Why Row in the River Valley?
Hands down, rowing is the best way to recreate in Edmonton’s River Valley. The ERC is the most beautiful rowing venue in the country located on one the cleanest rivers in Alberta. Long summer nights combined with glass-like water conditions are a recipe for a fantastic row stretching over many kilometres.
We take pride in protecting and preserving our river valley. Our rowers follow eco-friendly practices, adhere to water safety regulations, and contribute to keeping our waterway clean for future generations.
Our rowing community has a great deal of respect for the land: We acknowledge that Edmonton, including its river valley, is located within Treaty 6 Territory and the Métis homelands of Region 4. This land has been, and continues to be, a traditional meeting ground and home for many Indigenous peoples, including the Nehiyaw (Cree), Denesuliné (Dene), Nakota Sioux (Stoney), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot).
